Even as they are trapped in the chaos, some manage to wield authority over others. But in this world, where tomorrow may never come, not everyone is defenseless and miserable. Even the most innocent victims may have their turn at taking charge.

Lena Dunham Lena Dunham Director Lena Dunham Lena Dunham as Ella David Walker David Walker as Professor Gibbard Judy Rosen Judy Rosen as The Feminist Doris Jewitt Doris Jewitt as The Grandmother
College student Ella is completely focused on her ambiguously romantic relationship with her dorm-mate, Chris. She is so consumed by trying to understand his behavior that she's neglecting the screenplay she is supposed to write in order to graduate. When she does sit down to work on the script, her increasingly awkward social life bleeds onto the page and her work begins to express her true feelings about her own situation.
